LLA and FBA: Celebrating Growth and Looking Ahead
As one school year ends and we look ahead to the next, it's the perfect time to pause and reflect on all the great things God has done at Little Learners Academy and Fellowship Baptist Academy. The 2024–2025 school year was full of growth, exciting changes, and special moments that made this year unforgettable. As we look forward to next year, we are even more excited about what God is going to do in 2025-2026.
LOOKING BACK TO 2024-2025
Staff and Students
This past year, our school family grew in both size and strength. We had 172 students enrolled and were blessed with 29 amazing staff members—21 of them teachers (13 full-time and 8 part-time). That’s one more teacher and two additional paraprofessionals than the year before, and every one of them made a difference in the lives of our students.
Athletics
2024-2025 was a big year. Our high school volleyball team played an impressive 40 matches, and the junior high played 28. In basketball, our high school girls’ team and junior high boys’ team both finished strong with 11–4 records. We also added a brand-new junior high and high school track team, and 14 of our students had the chance to compete in four local meets. And our 2nd Annual Falcon Alumni Night was another great evening, bringing together past and present students to raise funds for our athletic programs.
Little Learners Academy
Our Preschool and Pre-K students were busy with activities that made learning fun, exciting, and meaningful. Little Learners Academy had more than 100 guests at their Grandparents Breakfast in September, and in April, they raised over $1,000 for missions by hosting their annual lemonade stand.
Parent-Teacher Committee
The Parent-Teacher Committee did a great job raising money for the teachers and the school. In October, we held our annual Walk-a-Thon, which brought families together in a fun and active way. The Christmas Tree decorating contest in December was also a very fun way to raise money. The PTC also organized a special Mother’s Day Basket Raffle to raise funds for the school, and thanks to the generous support of our families and community, it was both a fun and successful event!
Other Exciting Things
Our students learned and grew through all kinds of experiences—from field trips to the Mid-America Air Museum, Dalton Gang Hideout, and Lee Richardson Zoo, to hands-on events like Fire Safety Week, a Career Fair, and a resume writing workshop. We dressed up for Spirit Weeks in December and February, celebrated Dr. Seuss Week in March, and hosted nine Student of the Month assemblies to recognize students who went above and beyond academically and displayed great character.
Music
Music was another highlight! We had a wonderful Christmas concert, an Elementary Music Informance in May, and an Honor Choir performance that showcased the incredible talents of our students under the amazing direction of Mrs. Tomlinson (Mrs. T.).
Chapel
One especially meaningful part of our year was weekly Chapel, where students gathered to worship and hear from God’s Word. We also had a special guest speaker, Tracy Bachman, a former professional Motocross and Supercross rider, who encouraged students to use their God-given talents for His glory.
Campus Renovations
There were also some exciting improvements around campus. We installed a sound system in the gym. We also began a remodel of our second floor by adding new carpet, fresh paint, and completely remodeling the Youth Room, which is home to our weekly Chapel services.
Awards
We ended the school year by celebrating some great student accomplishments. At our Awards Assembly, we recognized 75 students who made the Honor Roll every quarter. We also handed out Leadership Awards, Congeniality Awards, Athlete of the Year honors, and our Ambassador Award. And we proudly celebrated our high school graduate, Anavictoria Loredo.
LOOKING AHEAD TO 2025-2026
Looking ahead to 2025–2026, there’s even more to be excited about. We’re expecting over 180 students this fall, and to help support that growth, we’ve added two more teachers and two more paraprofessionals to our staff.
We’re also super excited to be joining the Santa Fe Trail League, which means more consistent competition and opportunities for our athletes. Because of this, we are making plans to add four brand-new locker rooms to our gym, which will be a huge benefit for our athletic programs, as we continue to host more and more competitions. We also plan to sport brand-new volleyball and basketball jerseys this year!
Another big highlight this year will be our new and expanded playground! Thanks to the generosity of several church members, our students will now have two new beautiful playground areas, one for LLA kiddos and the other for FBA students. Additionally, a fenced-in field will be added behind the two playgrounds, providing space for students to play soccer, kickball, and other outdoor games.
On the academic side, we’re excited to offer Spanish II for the first time. This gives students another opportunity to develop their language skills and expand their understanding of other cultures. There is a possibility that other elective classes will be added for the 2025-2026 school year.
We are incredibly thankful for our families, staff, and church members! Your prayers, encouragement, and involvement make a huge difference. We can’t wait to see what God has in store for 2025–2026!
